Inexpensive scarves holder idea

After I received Eugenie's gift, I had to come up with an idea how to organize all my scarves. I have quite a few of them. I know if I put them in a box or drawer, I'll forget about them, and will never wear :)

I've seen the idea on Internet how to organize scarves, and... to keep them in the place where I can see them :)

It's just $2 dollars scarves holder made of a hanger and shower curtain rings. I got them from dollar store $1 each set (12 rings and 6 hangers)

First, I taped the rings to the hanger.

Then, I taped the rings to each other.

It was enough of them to add second layer, and the holder is ready :)

Great idea! Probably easy to use and easy to make. And very beautiful scarves! :)

Electrical tape or duct tape that is in Colors would work too!!

I tried to do something like this the other day because my shower rings wear sliding all over the place. I attached them to each other by clipping and it totally didn't work. This is genius! Thanks.

This is amazing! must be great for ties, too - I will try to make a similar thing for ties ad scarves, my husband has a ton of ties and they are so difficult to organize. Thank you for sharing! (it is nice to see the scarves, too ))))

Ooooh! Use one of the cheap fancy-schmancy patterned duct tapes that are out to add color. Thanks for the tutorial!

This is such a great idea! I actually used zip ties vs tape which really secured the rods together. Thanks for posting.

Love it! How is the scotch tape holding up?

Angie, not really-)) On second time, I'd go with white duct tape.

This is agreat idea. I was thinking of a sturdier alternative. White electrical ties! You could get them at Lowes or Home Depot.

love the idea

If you didn't want to fuss around with tape, zip ties may work as a quick and easy substitute.

Why not just hot glue the shower curtain rings to the hangar and each other?

Betty, I think it's less secure. Anyway, You can try it :)

Hot glue would eventually let go. I like the idea of the zip ties. You could make it more decorative by using the zip ties for strength, and using designer duct tape for appearance!

Hippies might snag delicate scarves... I love the idea of going over them with duct tape :-)

Would you even need to use the tape? Could you not just clasp the shower rings around the hangar as they were meant to clasp around the shower curtain rod and then do the same with the next row of rings, just clasp them around the ring above? I think it would work. Once you have scarves hanging on the rings, everything would line up nicely. In my mind. :-) LOL

I would at least tape the first row that attaches to the hanger otherwise the shower curtain rings would be sliding all over the place and they'd all end up in a clump in the corner of the hanger. But who knows. . .it's worth a try.

Awesome idea and I loved re-using some old stuff from around the house. Here's how mine tuned out: http://thegreatcraftscleanup.blogspot.com/2013/07/scarf-organizer-from-hanger-shower.html

Cute idea. I've been rolling mine up and keeping them in one of those closet hanging shoe organizers. (I have lots of pashminas) Your idea would be great for my lighter scarves that would wrinkle to much if rolled up.
